agne naya supathā rāye asmān

viśvāni deva vayunāni vidvān

yuyodhy asmaj juhurāṇam eno

bhūyiṣṭhāḿ te nama-uktiḿ vidhema

 Yudhiṣṭhira Mahārāja dijo: Oh, Señor Śrī Kṛṣṇa!. Oh, glorioso hijo de Vāsudeva!, por favor se micericordioso conmigo y describe el Ekādaśī que ocurrió durante la oscura quincena del mes de Phalguna (febrero-marzo).

Lord Nityānanda's appearance day

Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu appeared in the village of Ekacakrā, in West Bengal, India, around 1474. In the Caitanya-caritāmṛita and other scriptures He is declared to be the avatar of Lord Balarāma,, the direct expansion of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Śrī Kṛṣṇa.

hiraṇmayena pātreṇa

satyasyāpihitaḿ mukham

tat tvaḿ pūṣann apāvṛṇu

satya-dharmāya dṛṣṭaye

It is said that if one observes upavāsa(fasting) on this day then one receives entrance to Viṣṇu's abode, even though one has not performed the other vratas(half-day-fasts) of the year.
